Award-winning creative studio Luma shines with their visual effects work on Spider-Man: Homecoming, the latest addition to the Marvel Comics empire’s movie adaptations and is being widely praised as the best Spider-Man movie to date. Reaching a record high box office on the opening weekend, this full-throttle movie features breathtaking visual effects created by Victorian-based studio Luma.
Luma worked with Director Jon Watts and VFX Supervisor Janek Sirrs over the course of a year to deliver 11 key sequences and totalling nearly 500 shots. As big fans of one of Marvel’s most loveable superheros, the creative team were thrilled to work on this exciting project.
In a nod to the team’s work, Luma’s, VFX Supervisor Brendan Seals elaborates “this is definitely the proudest I’ve been of the crew that I work with. The passion and hard work they put into this film really shows the kind of talented people we have at Luma and how much they care about the artistry of their work”.
