Comedy drama Never Too Late has commenced production in South Australia.
Described as cross between Grumpy Old Men and The Great Escape, Never Too Late is the riotous story of four heroic Vietnam veterans, famous for escaping from a POW camp, whose new challenge is to break out of the nursing home from hell to chase their unrealised dreams.
An all-star ensemble cast is attached, including iconic Australian performers, two-time Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Animal Kingdom), Jack Thompson AM (Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence), and Shane Jacobson (Kenny, The Bourne Legacy) alongside renowned British actor Dennis Waterman (New Tricks, The Sweeney) and Oscar nominated actor James Cromwell (The Green Mile, Babe). Australia’s Roy Billing (The Dish) has also joined the cast. With funding from the South Australian Film Corporation, the shoot is currently taking place on location in South Australia and at the world class Adelaide Studios.
Never Too Late is directed by Mark Lamprell (My Mother Frank, A Few Less Men), written by screenwriter and crime novelist Luke Preston and produced by Antony I Ginnane (Patrick, Last Dance) and David Lightfoot (Wolf Creek).
Never Too Late is a FG Film Productions (Australia) production with Principal production investment from Screen Australia in association with the South Australian Film Corporation. International Sales agent is Myriad Pictures and the Australian Distributor is R&R Films.
