When travelling to Australia the following restrictions and rules apply:
- there is a 6000 cap on inbound travellers, once the cap is exceeded even ticketed passengers can be cancelled
- the Australian Border Force only gives 48 hours notice to airlines
- quarantine hotels are on a rolling roster so very difficult to predetermine accommodation until 48-24 hours out from travel
- very few quarantine hotels have balconies
- think of quarantine more as a hospital stay, not a hotel – to manage expectations
- NSW quarantine regimen is run by New South Wales (NSW) Department of Health and the police commissioner’s office
- the Victorian border has re-opened with NSW on Nov 23, there is no quarantine required for travellers to Victoria
- Victorians and people arriving in Victoria not able to travel to states other than NSW
