Award-winning Australian screenwriter and actress Monica Zanetti is set to be the latest Create NSW resident at Charlie’s. Whilst in LA (11 June – 5 July 2017), Monica will be meeting with potential distributors, producers and managers to discuss the feature film adaptation she has written of the play Ellie, Abbie & Ellie’s Dead Aunt, as well as pitching on other projects and working on a script for Endemol Shine.
Monica’s debut feature Skin Deep has screened at numerous international film festivals and was selected by The Weinstein Company’s Dan Guando for the Honourable Mention Award for Best Narrative Feature at Austin Film Festival (2014).The film earned Monica a 2015 Australian Writers’ Guild AWGIE nomination for Best Original Screenplay, a spot on the ‘25 Screenwriters to Watch’ list by US magazine MovieMaker and was released internationally in 2016.
Since then, Monica has written the short film Young Labor for Oscar®-nominated producer Drew Bailey and AACTA-winning director Leon Ford, On Hold for Taylor which was shortlisted for Australian short film festival Tropfest 2015 and has written and performed in the play Ellie, Abbie & Ellie’s Dead Aunt. Currently, she can be found writing television for Endemol Shine & Comedy Central.

NSW based actress and comedy writer, Prudence Vindin, has just finished up working from Charlie’s and used her time there to progress several projects, including developing a pitch around a screenplay for a live animation children’s film, mapping out production for a web series, working on a script for an Australian pilot and exploring options for turning her short film Ace into a series.
