Method Studios in Melbourne is partnering with Film Victoria and Luma Pictures on a new VFX Placements Program for recent graduates to help kick-start their careers in the industry.
The six-month paid placements will create junior artist positions at Method and Luma, giving these artists the opportunity to gain practical studio experience and build new skills, preparing them for long-term employment in the visual effects industry. The program launches in August 2019 and will bring in two new artists every six months for two years, for a total of eight placements.

With a 30-year legacy of creative passion and standout artistry, Method artists have earned an Emmy Award for VFX on HBO’s Game of Thrones, and Academy Award nominations for VFX on Mad Max: Fury Road and Deepwater Horizon. Method has recently completed work on Men in Black: International and It Chapter Two and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
To be eligible for the VFX placement program, applicants must be Victorian residents, have lived in Victoria for at least one year immediately preceding the placement, and be graduates of relevant post-secondary study programs or have basic industry experience.
