Sydney’s film industry has started the year at full pace with two blockbuster productions in various stages of production. Live-action filming has commenced for Peter Rabbit and Pacific Rim: Uprising.
John Boyega (Star Wars), who has been posting regular updates from the set of Pacific Rim: Uprising, stars in the film with Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad). Steven S. DeKnight takes over directorial duties from Guillermo del Toro, who directed the first Pacific Rim film and remains on board as a writer and producer for Uprising.
Peter Rabbit will be a hybrid live action and animation family film and will be brought to life by NSW’s world-class animation and VFX and production house Animal Logic and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Both productions have been brought to NSW with support from the Made in NSW fund, which provides incentives to attract international films and high-end Australian TV drama to the state, boosting entertainment jobs and the economy.
