Tide of work rises at Rising Sun Pictures

Riding high after Tony Clark’s Academy Award win for creating Cinesync, Rising Sun Pictures have just been awarded a package of work on Journey 2: Mysterious Island. The complex sequence is a 3D stereoscopic show that will be completed alongside VFX on a number of other projects in the building, including Green Lantern and Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 2.

Coinciding with the Adelaide Film Festival an industry event will be held on March 4 at the RSP studio to officially launch their DI theatre. The 60-seat theatre is capable of screening both conventional and stereoscopic 3D media and will be used primarily to support RSP’s core business, the production of high-end visual effects for feature films. It will also be used to provide complete DI services for domestically produced feature films. Recent films include dailies & Digital Intermediate Grade for Kriv Stenders’ Red Dog, as well as Mario Andreacchio’s The Dragon Pearl.
