Adelaide Film Festival opens

The biennial BigPond Adelaide Film Festival (BAFF) opens in South Australia on February 24 for 11 days of contemporary screen culture from Australia and around the world.  Listed in Variety Magazine’s Top 50 Unmissable Film Festivals around the world, BAFF is one of Australia’s premiere film events that celebrates moving image in all its manifestations.

Festival Director Katrina Sedgwick says, “Without doubt 2011 BAFF contains a remarkable array of practitioners presenting their work – and the line up of Indigenous and First Nation artists in both our screening and exhibition programs cannot be ignored. Finally THE HIVE lab, which brings together artists and filmmakers in a hothouse of creative conversation and inspiration, perhaps best illustrates the commitment and curatorial point of difference for our festival.”
