Construction of the Adelaide Studios, scheduled to open in mid 2011, is progressing as planned. Offering state-of-that art production facilities for film and television, the new studios will feature two sound stages, a sound mixing theatre, screening theatre and production offices, set within the cultural precinct of the Glenside Campus, a major redevelopment project for the South Australian Government.

As the new permanent home for the South Australian Film Corporation, which celebrates forty years in 2012 Adelaide Studios has been designed as a creative hub for local production companies and screen practitioners, with more than 30 local businesses to take up tenancy on the site.

Aimed at satisfying a market niche focused on providing facilities suited to domestic independent production, Adelaide Studios is designed to operate as an integrated hub for activities of the creative industries of the state, offering sufficient flexibility to support the independent production capacity upon which South Australia’s competitive advantage and reputation in film production has been built.
