Production Attraction Incentives in New South Wales

New South Wales (NSW) has the most aggressive and competitive production attraction incentives of any State in Australia.

The NSW Government is committed to making our State the most attractive destination in Australia for major international “footloose” productions and recently announced a further A$20 million in production attraction incentives for 2010/11.

The NSW Film & Television Industry Attraction Fund (FIAF) is open to productions with a minimum spend of A$5 million in NSW, or minimum Post/VFX costs of A$500,000 in NSW. The FIAF is discretionary and is based on a percentage of spend in the State across a range of criteria, including labour costs, level of employment of local cast and crew, direct economic benefit to the state, locations used in regional areas and new technology employed.

The NSW incentive is on top of the Australian Government’s Location Offset, Post/Digital/Visual Effects Offset and Producer Offset.
