Incentive information:
Film Victoria offers two incentive programs to encourage film makers to bring their projects to Victoria. The incentives, negotiated on a project by project basis, are a simple grant system, provided in the form of a cash rebate at the end of production.
Our Production Investment Attraction Fund grant is available to interstate or offshore productions that film or post produce feature films or television series in Victoria. To be eligible, a production must spend a minimum of 70% of the total production budget in Victoria or a minimum of AU$3.5million. In the case of post production/vfx only grants, a minimum of three Victorian facilities or services must be used.
The Regional Location Assistance Fund is designed to encourage local and footloose projects (i.e. projects which have qualified interstate and/or international alternatives) to use locations outside metropolitan Melbourne. The grant assists by offsetting some of the additional costs incurred when filming in regional areas such as accommodation, living overheads and travel. To be eligible a project must use regional Victorian locations during principal photography for a minimum of five shooting days.
In addition to these incentives, we can also offer information on investment funding for coproduction or joint venture projects.
