The Location Offset is a 15% rebate on Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure (QAPE), with a minimum QAPE spend of A$15 million.
- To be eligible, film and television productions must have a total Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure (QAPE) of at least A$15 million.
- Australian spends of between A$15 million and A$50 million must represent 70% of the project's total (worldwide) production expenditure.
- To be eligible, television series must spend an average of A$1 million per hour of finished production.
The Location Offset may not be combined with either the PDV Offset (Post, Digital and Visual effects production) or Producer Offset. The Location and PDV Offsets are administered by the Australian Federal Government's Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA).
