Village Roadshow Studios is home to three purpose-built film water tanks including the largest tank in the southern hemisphere. The tanks can been seen in action in films such as Fool's Gold and Nim’s Island.
- The Main Outdoor Tank with a surface area of 1,200m2 (12,915 sq ft), holds 1,320,000 gallons of water and has state of the art filtration and heating systems that allows the tank water to be heated to 32 degrees Celsius (89 degrees F).
- The Outdoor Above Ground Tank is designed for underwater filming.
- Stage 5 Indoor Tank: A large section of the Stage 5 floor can be removed to utilise the tank facility. The tank is fitted with a weir wall and re-circulating pump to create an artificial horizon.
