OSCAR-winning director James Cameron praised Australia for its world class studios and crews during a recent visit.

“I have been aware of (the Gold Coast studios) for many years and I have been budgeting for films here for many years,” he said.

“Now that I am here I see you have a world-class facility and I think you also have a very professional crew base.”

Cameron has taken on the role of executive producer of the new Australian film Sanctum, giving him his first opportunity to work here.
