The Ausfilm Co-Production Forum is designed to build partnerships between Australian and British producers. It took place in London on May 10 and 11, 2010.
Ausfilm, in conjunction with Screen Australia, the Australian state screen agencies and the UK Film Council is hosting this two day targeted event.
The Forum will feature:
- Project pitching sessions: UK & Australian producers pitch projects to their counterparts in a one on one setting.
- Publishing pitching session: UK literary agents pitch novels with available film rights to small groups of producers.
- Co-Production Panel: Senior executives from Screen Australia and the UK Film Council will discuss international co-productions and the 40% Producer Offset.
- Industry networking soiree.
Australian state screen agencies selected the Australian producers following a call out for expressions of interest from producers with one or more feature film project(s) in development that have the potential be made as either an official or unofficial co-production with an UK producing partner.
Ausfilm’s key aim is to attract international film and television production to Australia. Ausfilm is charged with marketing the Producer Offset internationally and is therefore uniquely placed to promote, with forums such as this one, the benefits of producing international films in Australia in partnership with Australians.
